Pigeon Creek Cleanup 2025: 1,851 Pounds of Debris Removed

Teamwork makes the dream work

This year, the Pigeon Creek Watershed Association held its Spring 2025 Cleanup at the intersection of Crackerjack and Bentleyville Road in Carroll Township-the same location where we removed 77 tires in December 2024.

We had a great turnout, and just the right size dumpster, which was generously provided by our cleanup partner, Mitch Pascarella of Pascarella Disposal Services, LLC. Mitch reported that we collected a total of 1,851 pounds of debris. That’s pretty impressive for thirteen people working over just two hours!

A great lunch afterwards

After the cleanup, we headed to Monongahela for a delicious pizza lunch, courtesy of Brad Feld, owner of Dettore’s Pizza. The weather was perfect at 70º and sunny. Our group included a wonderful mix of participants, ranging from infants to a fellow in his eighties. It was truly a rewarding day, bringing together people of all ages to help care for our community.
